In June, 2017, CENER21 officially became a new member of the Climate Technology Network (CTN) and once again recognized for its technical and regional expertise.

The CTCN is the operational arm of the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism, hosted by the UN Environment Programme and the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The CTCN promotes the accelerated transfer of environmentally sound technologies for low carbon and climate resilient development at the request of developing countries.

CENER21 is the only non-govermental organization from the Balkan region to join the network and one of the few among the South East Europe countries to hold a CTN membership. As a CTN member, CENER21 pledges to enhance technical cooperation and the development and transfer of technology to developing country parties to support action on climate mitigation and adaptation. The organization is eligible to participate in CTCN activities including a bidding process for implementing technical assistance projects.

The CTCN network is a wide and diverse system of international, regional and national member institutions. Serving as the core of the CTCN, network members respond to climate technology requests from developing country Parties to the UNFCCC.

As a member of CTCN, CENER21 participates in CTCN events, exchange information, and provides experts for webinars, e-learning courses and other types of trainings offered by the CTCN.

Network Membership provides access to a diverse global community of climate technology users, providers and financiers under the umbrella of the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism. Through its network, the CTCN mobilises policy and technical expertise to deliver technology solutions, capacity building and implementation advice to developing countries.
